How much does a DJ cost for a corporate event or private party?

Packages run from $2,500 (Corporate Mixer) to $4,500 (Corporate Premier), each covering up to four hours. Packages run from $2,500 to $4,500. Lighting is quoted separately. What moves the number is hours on site, the size of the room, how many wireless microphones the program needs, and the date itself — December and Saturday evenings carry the most demand. Send us your date and the outline of the event and we will quote it properly rather than guess.

How far in advance should we book for a corporate event or private party?

Accepted Answer

Three to six months is comfortable for most corporate events and private parties, and six to twelve months is safer for anything with a fixed date that cannot move. The season that genuinely sells out is December: holiday-party dates in the first three weeks of the month are often gone by late summer, and Saturday evenings are the first slots to go in any month of the year. None of that means it is too late — we hold dates on much shorter notice all the time. Send us the date and we will tell you straight away whether it is open.

Do you provide sound and lighting?

Sound is included in every package: our own professional system scaled to your venue, with setup, sound check and breakdown handled by us. If the venue has a house system we will work with it instead. Lighting is a separate add-on rather than part of the package price — small-venue LED coverage for the booth and dance area starts at $450, and room up-lighting or moving fixtures are quoted against the room. What we do not supply is staging, rentals or full production.

Can you provide clean, brand-appropriate music?

Yes, and for corporate work it is the default. We run clean radio edits as standard and will not drop an explicit version unless you specifically ask for one. Before the event we agree on the tone for each part of the program — arrival and registration, dinner, awards or remarks, then the dance set — along with a do-not-play list and any artists, lyrics or themes that are off-limits for your brand or your audience. If the event is being filmed or streamed, or if there are clients, press or families in the room, tell us early and we will build the selection around it.

Absolutely! We specialize in multicultural events and can seamlessly blend music from different cultures and languages. We work closely with you to understand your musical preferences and create a playlist that honors your heritage while keeping all guests engaged.

What's the difference between a DJ and an MC?

Accepted Answer

A DJ reads the room and runs the music. An MC, or host, runs the room — they hold the microphone for the length of the event, work the crowd and carry the program out loud. JN is a DJ. What we do on the microphone is light mic work: introductions, announcements, and the cues that keep a timeline moving — welcoming people in, handing off to a speaker, calling the room to dinner, opening the dance floor. We are not a hype-man and we do not provide full MC or host services. If your event needs a dedicated MC, host or emcee, hire one — we will work alongside them, take their cues and keep every transition clean.

Do you take song requests from guests?

Yes, with your approval! We can handle guest requests in a way that maintains the vibe you want. Before the event, we discuss your preferences - some clients love open requests, others prefer we stick to a curated playlist. We'll read the room and keep the energy high while respecting your vision.

What happens if equipment fails during our event?

Accepted Answer

Redundancy is the answer, not troubleshooting in front of your guests. We travel with backup equipment — a spare controller, a spare mixer, spare cabling and a spare microphone — so a failed component gets swapped out rather than diagnosed on the spot. Music plays from local media on redundant drives, never from a streaming service, so venue Wi-Fi dropping out has no effect on the room. Speakers are on separate circuits where the venue allows it, and we sound-check everything well before doors so problems surface in an empty room instead of a full one.

What happens if you get sick or have an emergency on the event day?

We have a network of professional backup DJs who maintain the same quality standards. In the unlikely event of an emergency, a fully qualified replacement will be there. We've never missed an event in 14+ years, but we always have contingency plans in place for your peace of mind.

Are you insured?

Yes, we carry comprehensive liability insurance and can provide certificates of insurance to your venue if required. Most venues require this, and we're happy to coordinate directly with your event location.

Do you play at outdoor events?

Absolutely! We have experience with outdoor events and bring weather-appropriate equipment. We do require adequate weather protection (tent or canopy) for our equipment and always have backup plans in place. We'll work with you and your venue to ensure everything runs smoothly regardless of the setting.

Every one of them includes Up to four hours — with wireless microphones and coverage scaled to the length of the program. Available as add-ons: extended hours, cocktail hour coverage, second sound zone, early setup / idle time, additional microphones. JN handles music, sound and DJ performance, working alongside your planner, venue and AV team. What we do not supply: Photo booths; Live musicians; Staging, rentals or full production; Event planning or day-of coordination; Full MC or host services beyond light mic work.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! We require a deposit to secure your date, with the balance due closer to your event. We can discuss payment schedules that work for your budget during our consultation. We accept all major payment methods including credit cards, bank transfers, and checks.
